Components are made of corrosion free materials. No pulleys, sprockets, belts or chains mean there is little maintenance. Basic unit comes with 2” receiver and 7 way plug. Tailgate salt spreaders are designed to mount easily by one person to a wide variety of vehicles depending on the hardware kit you select. Use with pickup trucks, tractors, ATV’s, or utility vehicles. Unit has a 5.75 cubic feet capacity or 500 pounds. Various types of melting product can be used including bagged ice melter, bagged rock salt, bulk salt, calcium flake, or calcium chloride pellets. Purchase the gate assembly kit if using any form of pelletized materials. Standard features include a cab mounted digital 12 volt controller, 3” vertical high flow auger and automotive style wiring harnesses. Controller provides for speed control. Hopper is bright safety yellow for high visibility. |

Compact design allows for one person installation. The tailgate salt spreaders are precise with a spread area up to 40 feet wide. The spreaders are suitable for private operators yet durable enough for commercial contractors. Ideal for maintaining driveways, recreational paths, parking lots, and roads. Spreaders can ordered in a variety of mounting options. Three point mount kit allows spreader to be mounted to a 3 point hitch. The utility mount option allows for mounting to small utility vehicles. Pivot mount permits user to swing the spreader out in cases where access is needed to truck bed from rear. If using pelletized material in your spreader, order the gate assembly kit, comes with an adjustable stainless steel gate to regulate flow rate of granular material. Includes a 10” cable. Fits most pickups, SUVS and utility vehicles.
